Cruise out to the see the majestic humpback
whales on the stable catamaran Volante IV when
you visit Hervey Bay during this winter season.
Each year from August to October the gentle
giants of the sea, the humpback whales, embark
on their annual migration which takes them to
the Great Barrier Reef's warm waters to mate and
give birth. On their journey the mammals
cruise through the sheltered waters of Hervey
Bay, staying to play for a while and taking the
opportunity to teach their new calves how to
play and interact.
Volante IV is a
purpose built catamaran which was designed
specifically for whale watching and can cruise
at a speed of twenty knots, allowing passengers
the maximum amount of time out on the water to
view the whales.
Two large, spacious decks
offer the ultimate panoramic views of the
humpbacks and plenty of space to move around the
vessel as the whales emerge just meters from
each side of the boat.
