The endangered humpback whales have been hunted
to near extinction in the past however now these
majestic creatures are replenishing their
numbers in the warm waters of the Great Barrier
Reef. Each year the mammals migrate from
the freezing waters of Antarctica to give birth
in the warmer waters off the Queensland coast,
and on their journey the whales stop off in the
sheltered waters of Hervey Bay from August to
October with their calves.
Spend some time
with these stunning creatures by joining the
friendly crew on the Spirit of Hervey Bay for a
half day cruise from Hervey Bay, the whale
watching capital of the world.
Specially designed
for whale watching the Spirit of Hervey Bay is a
sturdy twenty meter catamaran that offers two
walk around decks for panoramic views of the
whales and the near by World Heritage Fraser
Island.
